The main scientific activity of our department are projects concerning developing of new biomaterials. First, we work on developing biological acellular matrix for abdominal wall reconstruction. Second, we develop new hydrogel expanders for soft tissue reconstruction.is oncosurgery of female breast. Both projects are funded by Internal Grant Agency of Ministry of Health.

In adition, we conduct oncological program that is aimed especially at women with high risk of developing breast cancer. Within this program weperform study of fatgrafting after segmentectomia and irradiation funded by Grant Agency of Charles University.
